This six-minute yoga practice involves inducing deliberate tension in your body by squeezing and holding your muscles, and then letting go. It’s an awesome practice if you are feeling angry, tense, confused or physically and mentally agitated. This is an I AM Yoga Nidra practice from my training my Kamini Desai. I use this practice all the time to allow people to physically and mentally relax before coming to stillness for a meditation or Yoga Nidra guided meditation.
If you have cardiac disease, hypertension or glaucoma, please use caution. If you cannot have undue pressure in the head for any reason it’s really important that you breathe normally as you tense the body, and not hold your breath.
